Story Of Pine Valley Country Club
Founded in 1976, Pine Valley Country Club is the only private golf and country club on the north side of Fort Wayne. On the 160 plus acres sits a challenging 18 hole championship golf course, which has hosted many Indiana State events, including the Indiana State Open, the Indiana PGA Championship, and the 2001 Indiana Womens State Amateur Championship. The eight lane 25 meter competitive pool with snack bar, and the four court tennis facility makes for a well-rounded recreational facility.
The 13,000 square foot clubhouse, completely renovated in 1988, provides a beautiful setting for business, social and personal events. The social calendar is full, highlighted by the Spring Fling Dance, Dinner Theatre Night and the Member/Guest Invitational, which is considered the finest in Fort Wayne, the many gourmet nights in the winter months, and much, much more.
Pine Valley provides an excellent staff to serve you. Gary Gant is the General Manager and PGA Golf Professional, and has been with Pine Valley since 1990. Gary was the 1982 Indiana PGA Player of the Year, 1989 Indiana PGA Professional of the Year, the 1998 IndianaPGA Teacher of the Year and the 1999 Indiana PGA Junior Leader of the Year. The Pro Shop also has Class A PGA Professional Alan Moyer on Staff. They provide individual lessons and clinics for all ages and an outstanding tournament schedule.
The Golf Course Superintendent, Steve Mueller, does a spectacular job maintaining and grooming the golf course. Steve graduated from Purdue and served his apprenticeship at Fort Wayne Country Club and Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, before accepting the position at Pine Valley in 1991. Steve has upgraded the golf course condition and playability substantially. In 1994, Phase I of the Robert Lohman Master Plan was completed with renovation to 14 greens, 1 lake and 4 tees. In 1998, Hole 7 was rebuilt along with the practice green, #12 green and an additional 8 tees. In 2000, a 1.7 acre pond on #3 was built mainly for irrigation updating as well as eleven fairway bunkers and seven new tees.
Our Executive Chef, Christopher Zimmerman, is a Fort Wayne native and a graduate of teh Culinary Institute of America. Chris has worked in Private Clubs and Fine Dining REstaurants from San Francisco to New York. Chris, who considers himself to be a "Fusion Chef", brings a wide range of food flavors to Pine Valley Country Club, blending flavors and cooking styles from all over the country with Pine Valley menu favorites.
